The restaurant lead by the French chef Christophe Lidy is ideal for all kinds of hunger. In the bakery they make lots of breads that become great sandwiches and are the main stars from breakfast. In the rotisserie, salads, appetizers and divine terrines like the spread of campagne. Fresh fruits, cream and the best financier from the city are made there. In the bistro menu, more elaborated recipes like the dry tomatoes duo and parma’s ham with yogurt ice cream and  baked cherne on potatoes with herbs are a good choice with the daily dishes – on Sundays the  gâteau de rabada with white creamy polenta is superb – and the executive menu is offered at lunch time.

The most expensive buffet in the city. Even so the place is always crowed with different people. All this success is due to the kitchen led by Rosa Herz and her daughters Lúcia and Bia. In there salads full of bossa are made, with organic food. Chicken with curry, almond and mango chutney, egg-plant baked with onion, garlic and olive, wheat with apple and celery with yogurt sauce are classics that go with the buffet and delicious sauces, quiches and more two hot dishes. Don’t dimiss the desserts. The white chocolate mousse with passion fruit, and the sagu cream with banana ice cream and cinnamon are divine.

The juice place started at Barra and has grown up and appeared for other people. To follow the creative mix of fruits, there’re some conteporean recipes. The tuna is one of the best examples: it has four small portions of fish’s tartare with decorated palm with seeds, ceviche with avocado and purple onion, light grilled tomatoes chutney seaweeddo and, at last, the carpaccio brulé, one thin slice of fish with foie gras inside. The sandwiches are also great. The lamb hamburger with fine herbs, goat cheese and grilled bell pepper and egg-plant, is a good example.

The first step is to decide which one will be the bread. There’re more than 40 types, including big success like, baguette de leite, ciabatta, croissant, special French, Italian and the batard, tipically French new made with integral wheat and natural fermentation. Next, pastas are combined with cheese. It’s possible to choose among queijo brie and mussarela de búfala, mortadella bologna and Parma’s ham chooped very thin, dry salmon and grilled egg-plant and anything else the customer wants to try from the colored counter. Made according to the customer, the sandwiches go to the scale. A mix of bakery, candy shop and delicatessen, the crowded address has a lot to offer. There’re great candies, like chocolate with mousse and nut pie, homemade cookies, empadihas, pastinhas and quiches to take home.

It’s in the New York Times: the Bracarense – or just Braca, as it’s called by the old customers – is one of the favorite cariocas’ pub, that on weekends put lots of beach chairs on the sidewalk to enjoy the evening. The cold draft beer and the kitchen where wonderful dishes come from, are the ingredients responsible for the movement in the place, from Mondays to Mondays. The chef mineira  Alaíde Carneiro is aa expert at the stove and at the oven, makes snacks full of bossa, much higher than the usual chicken coxinhas or meat croquetes that can be found everywhere. There’re 700 units of more than ten aZipipes sold per day. All of them are only fried at the moment of the order. The most popular is the bolinho of cassava with shrimp and catupiry inside, always hot, with a smooth pasta. The shrimp bobozinho, something like an open empada with bobó inside, and the dried meat with catupiry empada are other delicious food made by Alaide commands.
